Press Release

Schedule of Planned Works Published

Office of the Registrar of Sites

The Interior Department has published its first schedule of planned works affecting shared infrastructure. The schedule lists the Department's own maintenance and inspection works and the works notified to it by members, so that every member using a site or route can prepare for any interruption to service.

Six items appear on the schedule at publication. The most significant is the replacement, between 5 and 9 October 2026, of the copper route between the central exchange point and the shared data hall with a fibre route. Service on the route will be interrupted during the works, and members using it have been notified individually. The remaining items are inspection and survey works with no effect on service, together with a monthly test of the standby generator at the northern relay site.

Members are reminded that works they intend to carry out on or near shared infrastructure must be notified to the Department in advance: five working days for works with no effect on service and twenty working days for works that will interrupt service. Emergency works may proceed at once but must be reported as soon as practicable.

The schedule is revised weekly and members affected by any change are notified by email.
