Press Release
Register of Sites Published
Office of the Registrar of Sites
The Interior Department has today published the Register of Sites. The register records every site and route held by the Department on behalf of members of the Velocity Interoperability Network, giving for each its reference, its class, a short description and its status.
Twelve entries appear on the register at publication: four relay sites, two exchange points, one data hall and five cabling routes. Nine are in service. One relay site, in the western district, is under transfer from the member that built it, and a second exchange point in the eastern district, together with the fibre route serving it, is planned.
The register is accompanied for the first time by a schedule of principal plant, listing the masts, shelters, generators, power supplies and cooling plant installed at each site, with the date of installation and the date of the next inspection under the service standard. The Department has also published a schedule of the land on which each site stands and of the wayleaves granted to members across it.
The register will be revised as sites and routes are transferred to the Department. Members are asked to check the entries relating to infrastructure they use and to send any correction to the Department by email.
