Interior Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established

The Interior Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Department is responsible for the infrastructure, land and facilities of the Network: the relay sites, exchange points, data halls and cabling shared by member organisations, the land on which they stand, and the premises the Department makes available to members.

With its establishment complete, the Department today launches its official website at interior.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, the Register of Sites with its schedule of principal plant, the service standard, the schedule of planned works, the schedule of land holdings and wayleaves, and the schedule of departmental facilities with the procedure for booking them.

The Department's work is organised in three offices: the Office of the Registrar of Sites, the Office of Facilities and the Office of the Spokesperson. The publication of the Register of Sites, the adoption of the service standard, the opening of departmental facilities for booking and the first schedule of planned works are the subject of separate announcements published today.
