Press Release
Departmental Facilities Open for Booking
Office of Facilities
The Interior Department today opens its facilities to member organisations of the Velocity Interoperability Network. Fourteen rooms, floors and stores at departmental premises are available to any member in good standing and are provided without charge.
The facilities comprise five meeting rooms seating between eight and forty people, an assembly hall seating three hundred, two exercise floors of twenty-four workstations each on which members may run interoperability exercises against a copy of the Network's shared infrastructure, three training rooms and three secure stores. A schedule giving the reference, capacity and notice required for each is published on the Department's website.
Bookings are made by email and are allocated in order of receipt. Ten working days' notice is required for most facilities and thirty working days for the assembly hall. Meetings of Network committees take precedence over other use, and a small number of standing bookings for those committees have been entered in the schedule.
The Department asks members to read the conditions of use before their first booking. Requests may be sent to the Department from today.
